Harry, Bob, et al:

Thanks so very much for posting your misadventures, I gotta tell ya, it must be contagious! While cutting down some reel seat inserts (so as not to have to hog too much off in the lathe) after work today, I managed to mangle the end of my thumb and  take a minor kerf out of the nail on my index finger. The doctor said it shouldn't take much more than a couple of months for the other half of my thumb nail to grow back, and it will only take a couple of minutes in 10 days to take out the 3 or 4 stitches that he put in, the rest was too butchered to sew. What I want to know is, why, when I knew darn well that I should have been using 2 push sticks instead of just one, did I not stop and get another one? When your inner voice speaks, LISTEN!

It's the tools you use every day that get too familiar to you that will get you eventually. I'm a carpenter and these things put the food on my table, so I should know better. All it takes is one second of stupidity, I'm just lucky the saw didn't spit my thumb out the door. Be careful out there.  (John Channer)
