I tried the floss method (from Dennis Higham) to remove some excess epoxy when I glued on a winding check yesterday. It worked great. Thanks Dennis. I used cotton crochet (binding) thread to floss/wick away  the  goop  that  came  out  at  the check-cork joint. Holding the rod in the lathe chuck leaves both hands to work with the thread around the section. I plan to use the same method when I go to glue on the reel seat.   (Brian Smith)
