I am Grant Adkins.  I live in Wichita Falls, TX.  I made my first rod, a 2 strip quad in 2009.  I am currently in the process of making my first hex after accumulating much of the necessary equipment.  I probably have one of the best teachers around in Darrol Groth from Vernon, TX.  Darrol has given me a great deal of advice, but probably more important, he has seen to it that I am the one making the rod.

My time is limited since I raise black angus cattle on a small ranch outside of Wichita Falls.  I also spend a great deal of time with flytying which I have doing for about 20 years.  I belong to Dallas Flyfishers and tie at various events.

I went to SRG this past year and was impressed with the folks attending and putting on the event.  Hopefully, I can get more involved in rod making and events in the future.
