Someone mentioned the plexi-glass with circles marked on it to view the cork rings for the pits. I think I had seen the article about the how-to-do-it, but I'll be darned if I can remember where I seen it!!! Does anyone know where I might find it?? I have a cool way to mark a piece of Plexiglas, along with some ideas on making one.  I'm needing the sizes/amount of the circles.  (David Dziadosz)

You can pick up a plastic drawing instrument in the stationery department that has holes in it that would cover any size you would need for cork rings. They are about 2.00. It is a flat plastic sheet about 1/16" thick.  (Tony Spezio)

That's a good idea, but I have some cork that hasn't been center drilled. I'm thinking I can shift the cork around on the viewer to find the best location and then mark the center.  (David Dziadosz)

I assume you mean to have a circle marked on the Plexiglas with a small hole in the middle to mark center.  (Tony Spezio)

That would probably work for viewing the rings, but I need to mark the center hole. I think I would like to have the option to mark the center hole off center to get the best section of the ring. I built a tool post grinder for my lathes. I can use a sanding drum with coarse grit to sand the grip round, if I did drill the hole off center. I’m just trying to get the best that I can out of some inferior rings. You know how the quality of cork has degraded!

I made a grip out of all clear cork rings once, it didn't look real! More like a foam handle! LOL However, I don't like to have to fill craters either! (David Dziadosz)
