I've been using Acetone to clean out the ferrules prior to mounting. I understand there may be something better to use. I've seen Tri-Chlorathane mentioned but it's not something available, or should I say, something I can't find.
Is there a product that anyone uses that works better than acetone?
Is there something out there that contains Tri-Chlor as part of the chemical make up that works for this purpose?. (Tim ??)
Darrol Groth put me on plain old carburetor cleaner. I also use good old concentrated dish soap. Dish soap is one of the best degreasers, that is what it was designed to do -- take off fats and oils from dishes. It can also ruin the paint job on your car, that is how good dish soap is.
