I'm thinking of having a thin ring of Cocobolo as the last ring in my cork grip before the reel seat. Any gotchas with this? Cracking maybe?  (Wayne Vierhout)

I have done a wood ring on the front and back of my cork grip and it seemed to work ok for me.  (Frank Paul)
